Investor Education Fund (IEF) offers unbiased financial information and tools to help consumers make better financial decisions through GetSmarterAboutMoney.ca. IEF provides educators with teaching and learning tools through its teacher site, InspireFinancialLearning.ca. The non-profit organization was established by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), and is funded through OSC enforcement settlements.
Financial literacy in the classroom
IEF played a prominent role in Ontario’s initiative to bring financial education to the province’s junior and senior high schools. IEF also conducts research to determine Canadians’ habits and needs related to personal finance, money management and investing.
